Whether your home has never had AC or you’re ready for a new system, Cascadia Comfort helps you choose the right fit and installs it correctly the first time. Free in-home estimates with no obligation.
The Pacific Northwest has a reputation for mild weather, and for most of the year that holds true. But Seattle summers have changed. Heat waves are more frequent, longer, and more intense than they were a decade ago. The 2021 heat dome pushed temperatures in the greater Seattle area past 100°F, and events like that are no longer once-in-a-generation outliers.
A home without air conditioning isn’t just uncomfortable during those stretches. It can be genuinely dangerous, especially for young children, elderly family members, and anyone with respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.
Beyond safety, there are practical reasons homeowners are investing in AC now:
If your home doesn’t have AC, now is the right time to change that before the next heat wave catches you unprepared.
01
“Seattle Doesn’t Get That Hot”
This was more accurate 20 years ago. Climate patterns in the Pacific Northwest have shifted, and what used to be a few warm weeks in August now regularly includes multi-day heat events that push indoor temperatures well past comfort, and safety, thresholds. Waiting until a heat wave is already underway to look into AC installation means competing with every other homeowner in the region for a limited number of available appointments.
02
“I’ll Wait Until I Can Afford It”
AC installation is an investment, and it’s reasonable to plan for it. But delaying often costs more in the long run. Portable and window units purchased as stopgaps add up quickly, don’t cool effectively, and do nothing for your home’s value. Many homeowners are also surprised to find that financing options, utility rebates, and federal efficiency tax credits make a permanent system more accessible than expected. A free in-home estimate gives you the real number without any commitment.
03
“I’m Not Sure Which System Is Right for My Home”
This is the most legitimate reason to pause, and it’s exactly why we start with a free in-home consultation rather than a phone quote. The right system depends on whether your home has existing ductwork, your square footage, your heating and cooling goals, and your budget. Installing the wrong system type leads to poor performance and wasted money. Getting a professional assessment first costs you nothing and ensures you’re making a confident, informed decision.

10-YEAR PARTS & LABOR WARRANTY
One of the biggest questions homeowners face is which type of system makes sense for their home. Cascadia Comfort installs all three major residential AC system types, and we’ll recommend the right one based on your home’s layout, existing infrastructure, and budget.
Central Air Conditioning (Ducted) If your home already has ductwork from a forced-air furnace, adding central AC is often the most straightforward path. A new air conditioning unit connects to your existing system, giving you whole-home cooling through the vents you already have. We assess duct condition as part of the installation process to make sure your new system can perform efficiently.
Ductless Mini-Split Systems For homes without existing ductwork, or for additions, garages, and rooms that need independent temperature control, ductless mini-splits are an excellent solution. These systems consist of an outdoor compressor unit and one or more indoor air handlers mounted on the wall or ceiling. Installation is minimally invasive, and each zone can be controlled independently for better comfort and efficiency.
Heat Pump Systems Heat pumps are the most versatile option and have become increasingly popular in the Seattle area. They provide both heating and cooling from a single system, making them an ideal replacement or supplement to older heating systems. Modern cold-climate heat pumps perform efficiently even when outdoor temperatures drop well below freezing, which makes them a strong fit for the Pacific Northwest’s shoulder seasons.
We’ll walk you through all three options during your free in-home estimate and give you a clear recommendation with the reasoning behind it.
Cascadia Comfort serves homeowners throughout the greater Seattle area, including Bothell, Everett, Lynnwood, Bellevue, and surrounding communities.
It depends on whether you have existing ductwork, your home’s size and layout, and what you want to spend. We assess all of that during a free in-home consultation and give you a clear recommendation before you commit to anything.
Costs vary depending on the system type, home size, and whether any ductwork or electrical work is needed. Our in-home estimates are free and come with no obligation, so you’ll have a real number before making any decisions.
Most installations are completed in one day. Larger projects involving new ductwork or electrical upgrades may take longer. We’ll give you a clear timeline during your estimate.
Yes. Depending on the system and your utility provider, you may qualify for rebates through Puget Sound Energy or Snohomish PUD, as well as federal tax credits for qualifying high-efficiency systems. We’ll point you toward available programs during your consultation.
In many cases, yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps handle both heating and cooling efficiently, and many homeowners use them as a primary system with their existing furnace as a backup for the coldest days. We’ll assess your current setup and give you an honest picture of what makes sense.
Here’s what you can expect from the installation process, start to finish.
Free In-Home Estimate Everything starts with a no-obligation visit to your home. We assess your existing ductwork (if any), measure your space, evaluate your insulation and layout, and discuss your comfort goals and budget. This is where we determine the right system type and size. We don’t quote over the phone because a phone quote without a site visit leads to wrong-sized equipment and disappointed homeowners.
System Selection and Scheduling Once you’ve reviewed your estimate and decided to move forward, we handle equipment ordering and scheduling. We work to get you on the calendar as quickly as possible, and we’ll coordinate around your schedule.
Permits and Code Compliance AC installation in Washington State requires permits in most cases. Cascadia Comfort manages the permitting process so your installation is done to code, your warranty is protected, and there are no issues if you sell your home down the road.
Installation Day Our technicians arrive on time with the equipment and tools needed to complete your installation. For central AC, this includes connecting to your existing air handler, setting the outdoor condenser, and verifying duct integrity. For mini-splits, we mount indoor units, run refrigerant lines, and connect the outdoor compressor. For heat pumps, we handle full system setup including integration with your existing thermostat or a new smart thermostat.
System Commissioning After installation, we test the system fully, verify refrigerant charge, check airflow at every zone or vent, and confirm the thermostat is communicating correctly. We don’t consider the job done until the system is running exactly as it should.
Homeowner Walkthrough Before we leave, we walk you through how to operate your new system, what settings to use for efficiency, and what basic maintenance keeps it running well. We’ll also let you know what to watch for and how to reach us if anything comes up.
