Skagit Valley weather doesn’t always cooperate. Winters here bring persistent wet cold that settles into older homes, and summer heat has been hitting harder in recent years, especially for houses that weren’t built with cooling in mind. Mount Vernon’s housing stock reflects a wide range of eras, from well-established ranch-style homes near Little Mountain to newer builds along the College Way corridor, and each generation of home comes with its own set of heating, cooling, and electrical needs.
A lot of the homes in this area were built between the 1970s and early 1990s, which means furnaces and electrical panels are quietly aging in the background. Many households are also making the shift to heat pumps, both for efficiency and for the cooling capability they didn’t have before. Cascadia Comfort handles all of it, from furnace repairs and AC installation to heat pump service and electrical work. We give you an honest read on what your system needs, and we’ll always tell you if a repair makes more sense than a replacement.

Mount Vernon is one of those cities that feels both rooted and growing at the same time. Downtown has an active, lived-in energy, with the Historic Lincoln Theatre anchoring the arts scene and the Skagit Valley Food Co-Op drawing regulars from across the area. Come spring, the tulip fields south of town pull people in from everywhere, but the residents here know this place in all four seasons, not just April.
The neighborhoods reflect that same character. Eaglemont on the east side has larger, newer homes with more complex systems. Closer to the Skagit River, you find older character homes with original ductwork and panels that haven’t been touched in decades. Hillcrest Park and the areas near Skagit Valley College have a steady mix of mid-century and newer builds, each with different heating and cooling profiles.
We’re not a franchise dispatching technicians from a regional hub. Cascadia Comfort is a local company, and when we show up at a home in Mount Vernon, we treat it the same way we’d want someone to treat ours. Straight answers, no pressure, and work we’d stand behind in our own neighborhood.
Riley was Super knowledgeable and was very helpful, explaining how things work. And how I should maintain the heat pump for optimum Heating and coolingPosted on Sheri Mathe Came in, identified problem and provided a solution as quick as they could with getting all the approvals. Thank you. Oh and having a bear is a mandatory prerequisite for everyone working here 😉 so if you like yourself a bearded handyman, you found the right placePosted on Olga Kovalenko We had a great experience with Riley from Cascadia Comfort! He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to give us clear, honest, and practical feedback about our furnace issues. Instead of pushing for a costly replacement, he focused on helping us understand the problem and how we could maintain our current system, which we really appreciated. Riley was also very friendly and explained everything in a way that made it easy for us to follow along. It’s refreshing to work with someone who is both professional and genuinely looking out for the customer’s best interest. We’ll definitely continue using Cascadia Comfort for our HVAC needs and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends and family!Posted on Amrita Bhowmick I recently had my furnace serviced and maintained by Riley, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the experience. He was professional, punctual, and did an excellent job. He took the time to clearly explain everything and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I really appreciated his attention to detail and customer service. I would highly recommend Riley and would definitely use his services again in the future.Posted on Susan B. I honestly don’t know where to begin—Cascadia Comfort were absolute lifesavers. Our furnace stopped working in the middle of February, and after getting nowhere with our home warranty company, we had to find our own help. Cascadia came up first in my search, and I’m so glad they did. I reached out through their website and was scheduled the same day. Regis came out and explained everything in a clear, easy-to-understand way, and helped us get everything submitted to the warranty company right away. Even though the warranty process dragged on for 30 days, Cascadia stayed on top of it the entire time. Adam kept us updated weekly and helped translate everything so we weren’t left in the dark. When it came time for installation, Riley was amazing—quick, efficient, and thorough. He walked us through all the features and made sure we felt confident with everything before he left. And to top it off, when the city and electrical inspectors came out for the post-install inspection, it took them less than two minutes to call out what a great job was done—it passed with zero comments. This team truly goes above and beyond for their customers. Highly, highly recommend!Posted on Brianne Nevill Booking an appointment with Adam was great. So good to work getting my service scheduled very quickly! Riley, the technician, was sooooo good. I was able to watch everything he did and he explained in detail what he was looking for and giving me the results real time. Very much appreciated the team work with Cascadia Comfort. I will definitely keep them in mind when I move to my new home. Thanks, guys! You're the best.Posted on Vicky McKay The crew arrived on time and worked well together, coordinating the work to minimize disruption and inconvenience. We are happy with their efforts and the end results.Posted on Rich Cook Fixed our fireplace. Super nice and professional : )Posted on TV Coahran Absolute FIVE STAR service from Cascadia Comfort! From the very first contact over the phone, I knew this company was legit. Adam was very helpful and professional while scheduling our next morning appointment. One thing that definitely sets them apart is that they send a text with your technicians name and photo, so you know who will be showing up at your door. Regis came in and quickly repaired the issue and even went above and beyond and fixed a cabinet door that I was having issues with (Thank you, Regis!). I would highly recommend this company, and we will definitely be calling them for future HVAC needs.Posted on Janet Gilman Olson Riley Vance amazing and resolved the issue quickly.Posted on Tara Blaska

COMMON HVAC ISSUES WE FIX
When your furnace stops on a cold January night or your AC gives out during a rare Skagit Valley heat stretch, you need someone who can actually get there. The Cascade Mall corridor and the neighborhoods off I-5 are well within our regular service area, and we keep our scheduling tight enough to offer same-day help when it matters.
Cascadia Comfort handles urgent heating repair, AC repair, and heat pump diagnostics with the same straightforward approach we bring to every call. We also support homes with generator needs and can address electrical issues that come up alongside HVAC work. No runaround, no upselling you into equipment you don’t need. Just a local team that shows up and gets it handled.
Yes. We keep availability open for same-day calls throughout Mount Vernon and the surrounding Skagit County area. Whether it’s a heating system that stopped overnight or an AC issue in the middle of summer, we do our best to get to you the same day you call.
We cover heating and cooling in full, including furnace repair and installation, heat pump service, AC repair and replacement, and ductless mini-split systems. We also handle electrical work, panel upgrades, generator installation, and commercial HVAC for businesses in Mount Vernon. If you’re not sure what you need, we’ll come out, take a look, and give you an honest assessment.
Yes. We work with commercial customers in the Mount Vernon area, including small businesses, light commercial spaces, and mixed-use properties. If you’re managing a commercial building and need HVAC support, give us a call and we’ll figure out what makes sense.
We look at the age of the equipment, the nature of the problem, and whether the repair cost makes sense relative to the system’s remaining life. We’re not in the habit of recommending replacement when a repair will do the job well. If a system is genuinely at the end of its useful life, we’ll tell you that clearly and walk you through your options without any pressure.
Yes, financing is available for qualifying customers. If you’re facing a larger repair or a full system replacement and want to spread the cost out, ask us about it when you call or schedule online. We want to make sure cost isn’t the reason someone puts off a repair that’s actually needed.
Your home is your investment, and your comfort is non-negotiable. Whether your furnace is making a noise it shouldn’t, your AC didn’t survive winter storage, or you’re ready to upgrade an aging electrical panel, we’re just a call away. We serve Mount Vernon homeowners with the same care and attention we’d give our own neighbors — because in many cases, we are.
