Mercer Island sits in the middle of Lake Washington, which means it gets its own version of Pacific Northwest weather. Winters are damp and gray, and furnaces here work hard from October through March. Summers have been warming up noticeably, and the AC units that once felt optional are earning their keep a lot more often now.
The island’s housing stock covers a wide range, from postwar mid-century ranchers and 1950s split-levels to Northwest Contemporary homes and newer construction. That mix means HVAC and electrical needs vary quite a bit from one neighborhood to the next. An older home near Mercerdale might have a furnace that’s well past its expected lifespan and a panel that wasn’t designed with today’s electrical load in mind. A newer build on the West Mercer hillside might be ready for a heat pump upgrade.
Cascadia Comfort handles heating repair, AC repair and installation, heat pump service, and electrical work for homes across the island. We look at what your system actually needs and give you a straight answer, whether that’s a repair or a replacement.

Mercer Island is one of those places people choose deliberately. The commute on I-90 gets you to Seattle or Bellevue quickly, but once you’re on the island, it has a pace of its own. Families walk the trails through Pioneer Park on weekends, kids play at Deane’s Children’s Park, and summer evenings often end up at Luther Burbank Park along the Lake Washington waterfront. It’s a close-knit community that takes care of its homes and its neighbors.
The island’s neighborhoods each have their own character. The north end around First Hill has some of the older homes, many with original ductwork or aging electrical panels that weren’t built for today’s demands. The south end and areas like Groveland and The Plateau tend to be quieter and more residential, with a mix of homes that have seen varying levels of updating over the decades. The East Mercer corridor offers stunning lake views but also a humidity exposure that can quietly wear on equipment.
We are a local company, not a regional franchise or a dispatch center routing calls from a different zip code. When you schedule with us, someone who actually knows this area shows up, takes a look, and tells you what’s going on.
The only downside of using Cascadia Comfort? You wish they just be the one that handle all sorts of work other than HVAC because they define what a fantastic service should be. They extremely responsive with communication, doesn't have any shady practice of charging you insane amount of visit fee that doesn't go towards the actual repair, reasonable pricing, and excellent use of technology to let you know who's coming and when are they coming for repair. The technician was extremely friendly and knowledge. He let me shadow him and explain every steps to me. I wish they can also be my landscaper, home repair, car repair....Posted on Google![]()

COMMON HVAC ISSUES WE FIX
Life on Mercer Island moves quickly. Between the commute across the bridge, school schedules at Mercer Island High, and the stretch of cold weeks that settle in every January, a heating system that stops working isn’t a minor inconvenience.
When something breaks down in the Aubrey Davis Park neighborhood or further south near Island Crest Way, Cascadia Comfort offers same-day service to get your home back to comfortable. Whether it’s a furnace that won’t fire, a heat pump running constant cycles, or an AC unit that gave out in the middle of a July heat spike, we work to get there the same day and give you an honest assessment on the spot.
We also handle electrical and generator needs for homeowners who want backup coverage when island weather turns. No runaround, no upsell pressure. Just responsive, local help.
Yes. We keep our schedule flexible so we can respond quickly to homes across Mercer Island. When your heating or cooling goes down, we work to get out the same day whenever possible, without making you wait a week for an appointment.
We cover heating repair and installation, AC repair and replacement, heat pump service, furnace work, electrical, generators, and commercial HVAC. Whether it’s a newer home on the West Mercer hillside or an older mid-century property closer to Town Center, we work on a wide range of systems and home types throughout the island.
Yes. We work with commercial properties on Mercer Island for HVAC installation, service, and repair. If you have a business or mixed-use building on the island, reach out and we’ll assess what you need.
We look at the age of the system, the cost of the repair, and how efficiently it’s been running. If a repair makes financial sense and the system has useful life left, we’ll tell you that. We’re not going to recommend a full replacement when a repair will get you several more good years.
Yes. We offer financing options for larger installations and replacements, including furnaces, heat pumps, AC systems, and electrical work. Ask us about current options when you schedule your appointment.
Your home is your investment, and your comfort is non-negotiable. Whether your furnace is making a noise it shouldn’t, your AC didn’t survive winter storage, or you’re ready to upgrade an aging electrical panel, we’re just a call away. We serve Mercer Island homeowners with the same care and attention we’d give our own neighbors — because in many cases, we are.
