16+ years of repair & install
The U District sits in that particular Seattle sweet spot where Pacific Northwest winters arrive quietly but persistently, and summers have gotten genuinely warm enough that cooling is no longer an afterthought. The housing stock here spans a wide range, from early 1900s Craftsman homes near University Park to mid-century rentals and newer multifamily builds along the Ave. Older homes in particular tend to have aging furnaces, undersized electrical panels, and HVAC systems that were installed long before anyone was thinking about heat pumps.
That mix creates real variability in what homes actually need. Some properties are a good candidate for repair. Others have equipment that’s simply at the end of its useful life. Cascadia Comfort gives you a straight read on which situation you’re in, whether that’s a furnace tune-up, an AC installation, or a full system assessment. We work in the U District and the surrounding Seattle neighborhoods, and we’ll tell you what your system actually needs, not what’s most profitable for us to sell.

The University District is one of Seattle’s most layered neighborhoods. The UW campus anchors the south end, and from there the community fans out into pockets that feel genuinely distinct. Ravenna to the northeast has quiet tree-lined blocks with older single-family homes. Portage Bay borders the water to the south. The Burke-Gilman Trail threads through the whole area, and the U District Farmers Market draws regulars every Saturday near University Way.
What that mix means in practice is a wide variety of home ages, building types, and comfort needs on the same few blocks. A 1920s bungalow near Cowen Park and a newer apartment building off 15th Ave NE are solving for very different heating and cooling challenges. Some buildings have never had central air. Some have boilers. Some have heat pump systems that haven’t been serviced in years.
We work throughout this part of Seattle because it’s the kind of neighborhood where owners and tenants alike expect a local company that shows up, gives a clear explanation, and doesn’t push a replacement when a repair will do the job. Cascadia Comfort isn’t a call center dispatching from somewhere else. We’re a local team, and this is our city too.

When the job was done, they cleaned up thoroughly and left the place in the same condition in which they found it. We look at the age of the equipment, what the repair would actually cost, and how much useful life is realistically left. If a repair makes sense, we’ll tell you to repair it. We’re not going to recommend a full replacement just because it’s a bigger job. You’ll get our honest read and the information you need to make the right call for your home and your budget.
Yes, financing is available for qualifying customers. If you’re facing a larger installation or replacement, we can walk you through the options so cost doesn’t get in the way of getting your home comfortable.
